John Tomsett: Core or Hinterland? Who owns the enacted curriculum?

What constitutes the curriculum is the key educational issue of our time. In this session I will explore Christine Counsell's concept of the Core Curriculum and the Hinterland Curriculum with very specific examples. I will explore who owns the curriculum and the difference between the curriculum as detailed in schemes of learning and the curriculum which is enacted in the classroom. How far do you allow teachers to go off piste, to follow their passions? Find out when I discuss, Core or Hinterland? Who owns the enacted curriculum?
