Victoria Beattie (Kalmer Counselling) is an accredited therapist with an MSC in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. She has over 20 years experience working therapeutically with children and young people across the North East.

She is also a consultant lecturer for the University of Northumbria teaching the Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHST's) which is a government initiative jointly delivered by the Department of Education and NHS England. Her area of specialism is the mental health of children and young people with learning disabilities/difficulties.

Kalmer counselling was formed 12 years ago by Victoria and now has a team of over 50 therapists working within schools ranging from primary, secondary, special needs and alternative provisions across the north east of England. They also provide private therapy within their therapy centre for anyone who wants and needs mental health support. Her service has been commissioned by CNTW for 7 years now providing a counselling service to children and young people who have autism.

Victoria is vice chair of the advisory committee for an alternative provision and works as a consultant for Prosper Trust (Academy of 5 schools ranging from school hospitals to special needs provisions). She’s also vice chair of Local Authority primary school where she is the link governor for SEND and mental health.

This free-to-download Toolkit supports pupils to understand the importance of taking care of their mental health and offers them key knowledge alongside practical skills and strategies. The Toolkit includes six upper key stage 2 lesson plans with PowerPoint slides as well as teacher guidance and accompanying resources.
